Occasionally, as with any software, you run into a snag, and the application crashes. If you experience a crash when using Civil 3D, an Error Report dialog box will pop up. I know many people are in the habit of just closing it, and not spending 10-20 seconds to fill in the description field and send it off. Please do! Why?
The Quality Assurance (QA) team regularly reviews this information. Each time you submit a report, it is automatically placed into a "bucket" with the specific characteristics of the modules in use when the incident occurred. The more reports in a certain bucket, it will normally receive a higher fix priority than one with a lower report count.
If you provide your email address, the QA team may contact you to provide the drawing file used when the incident occurred. Including your email address has an added benefit for you - if a workaround or fix is noted for that bucket, you will receive an email when it becomes available.
By participating, you are an active part in making the product better and will get timely notice of a possible workaround or resolution if one is/becomes available.
Note: if you have already submitted a report for an issue and you encounter the same issue again, it is not necessary to resubmit.
