The TrenchPipe3 Subassembly can be used for building a trench for your Pipe Network, giving the option to target both a Rock Surface, as well as an Existing Surface. This is great for allowing steeper side slopes when blasting your trench into bedrock, but then keeping milder slopes above that, in natural ground. This is a new Subassembly, and I don’t think it is being used all that much. But I noticed some odd results from a user recently. It is an easy fix, but one that can easily be overlooked. Here is what the Corridor looked like, in it’s incorrect form.
Notice how the Corridor is split up into many sections and not daylighting correctly.
As with any new Subassembly, its always a good idea to check the Help Menu for more information on how this part works. The Help material always includes a nice diagram, as well as everything else you would ever want to know about this part. Here is a screenshot from the Help menu:
Notice how there is two different Sideslope options. If you don’t have a Rock Surface, that’s fine, but make sure to set this to <None> in your targets. This is where the problem was on the original project. Setting both Surfaces to the same target Surface will cause the issues shown in the original screenshot.
Like I always say, Product Support are the ones working in the trenches. :)
