New in 2011 is the ability to add a Superelevation View from any alignment that has a superelevation applied. This new feature allows the user to graphically depict the superelevation changes along the alignment. These are used frequently with in the Department of Transportation, and many of the consultants that work with DOTs.
To achieve this you simply click on an alignment in Civil 3D 2011, and notice the contextual Ribbon has a new option under the MODIFY panel>SUPERELEVATION, which is called Superelevation View. Clicking on this will launch a dialog very similar to the Create Profile dialog, and you will notice that you are able to control all sorts of options in this dialog from the Style to which superelevation you would like to display.
After you have specified the desired parameters, click OK and pick the placement point in your drawing. You will now have a visual tool in which to view the superelevation. Did I forget to mention it also dynamically updates as you edit the alignment? Enjoy!
