Some of you have experienced slow startup or noticed that upon launch of Civil 3D your program becomes unresponsive. The whole issue is described in the article TS15228698. It basically happens because InfoCenter process was left running on some machines after Civil 3D 2011 was closed. But that’s not the only reason I am writing this post. I have seen some of you asked how to completely disable Communication Center.
CAD Manager Control Utility (Start>All Programs>Autodesk>CAD Manager Tools) is one way.
Other way involves modifying one registry key. Here is how:
1. From START>RUN and type REGEDIT
2. In Registry editor, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R19.0\ACAD B000:409\CadManagerControl\CommunicationCenter
3. Then find EnableCommunicationCenter on the right side, select it and set Value Data to 0 (to disble).
4. Restart Civil 3D
Don’t forget to take a special caution when working in registry. Making a copy of Registry Key is best way to ensure if you mess up you may be able to undo it.
Good luck!
