Project Objects to Multiple Section Views

Before we are off for our well-deserved week of rest I wanted to wish you all happy holidays and all the success you need in the next year. I also wanted to share something with you that some of you may find useful.

Here the scenario. Customer wanted to add a property line to all section views and to label it in the section views. It is not uncommon to have a design where property lines, right-of-way or end of pavement needs to be shown in the section views. In the last two cases we already blogged about it in a three-series posts Vertical Markers for ROW and EOP. This time there is an easier way to show property line in multiple section views.

To fast forward it, let’s assume the Property Line is this polyline indicated by red arrow. Also assume that you also have a label set to show Property Line (I called it “TEST”).

The first step is to create a Feature Line from that property line (polyline). So let’s use “Create Feature Line from Objects” command and assign elevation if necessary.

Somebody asked me this not too long ago… Is it possible to not show the word “Horizontal” on my cross section views when adding labels to the top link code using rise:run if my slope is 0 (zero)?

The word “Horizontal” will show automatically every time that the top surface is represented with a horizontal line, like the bottom of a ditch.

AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 SP1 Hotfix 1 released

A hotfix was prepared to fix a number of issues with AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 SP1. You need to have SP1 applied already in order to apply this hotfix. Please read the readme for more instruction on this. A big thank you to customers who regularly submit CERs (Customer Error Reports) to Autodesk!
