This post will not be something that may not help you resolve some major issue but could be a reminder of something you may need to know. I’m sure you all have seen that sometimes "Delete" options is missing from your choices when you right-click on a surface in the Prospector. To illustrate I took a screenshot of it. Notice that one surface has Delete option while other doesn’t.
Also, there is couple of common scenarios when the surfaces do not show Delete Options. One reason may be that Surface is locked. In the Prospector such surfaces will have an icon with crossed pencil next to the surface name. Go to Surface Properties and in Information tab, check if Object Lock is checked.
Other reason is you’re your surface may be created by dependent files, for instance if the surface I created from XML file. To check if that’s the case, go to Surface Properties, click on Definition tab and look on the dialog below. See if it shows “Import XML File”. You may see other entries too. This means that your surface depends on LandXML file.
This is what help says about it:
Note: "You cannot delete a surface from the Prospector tree if it has associated dependencies (such as other objects). You can determine if the surface has dependencies by the orange triangle attached to the surface icon. The Delete command for such surface is missing from the shortcut menu."How to delete them, you may ask? Answer is very simple - if you want to delete the surface that does not have option Delete listed; you can still delete it by selecting it in the drawing and clicking on Delete key on your keyboard or Typing ERASE command. keep in mind, that the ocked surfaces first must be unlocked in order to be deleted
