Not exactly sure where to begin, it may sound very cliché’ but let me start by saying that getting this opportunity to work for Autodesk, Inc. is the best thing to ever happen to me.
My name is Mangkhothang Haokip aka Matt (thanks to my inarticulate indigenous name.
I am a Civil Engineer, graduated in the year 2000 and started my career as a site engineer for a special contractor in my home town for a year. As is human nature, looking for greener pasture, I moved to the capital city of India-New Delhi in 2002. Unfortunately, infrastructure and civil engineering industry was at its lowest slump and did not offer any opportunity those days. Worked as direct marketing agent for a small organization. Then, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) happened in every metros of India, so spent four years in the BPO industry as Team Lead in technical support as well as sales and marketing in various organizations.
Come 2006, I joined BOSS International as an application engineer for its Hydrology and Hydraulic software. Enjoyed my work profile to the hilt, supporting hydrology and hydraulic modelers, presentation of the models to engineers and decision makers from small to multinational firms. I was then promoted to Team Lead – Application Engineer in 2009. Acquisition of BOSS software by Autodesk, Inc. was a blessing in disguise which provided me the opportunity to be in this position. With the acquisition of BOSS International assets by Autodesk, Inc., I worked as a consultant for the acquired assets (i.e. StormNET, RiverCAD Pro and WaterNetworks) and later joint Autodesk, Inc. as a Product Support Specialist.
I am also a big Soccer fan and always love Manchester United of the English Premier League and Real Madrid of the Spanish League. My free time has been playing Soccer, Ping-Pong, Volley-ball and hiking used to be one of my favorites in my younger days, now that I live in a metro, would really love to go for a mountain hike.
